Budget 2026: Toyota Corolla prices may rise by Rs 3 lakh after new 6% levy
ISLAMABAD – Toyota Corolla buyers may face a major price shock as the federal government is considering imposing a new 6% environmental levy on conventional fuel vehicles in Budget 2026-27.
If approved, the proposed tax could increase Corolla prices by Rs 243,000 to Rs 302,000, with some variants going up to close to Rs 80 lakh and even beyond. According to sources, the Corolla Altis X Manual 1.6 could be priced at Rs 6.445 million from Rs 6.202 million, an increase of Rs 243,000. The Corolla Altis 1.6 X CVT-i could cost Rs 267,000 more, with an expected price tag of Rs 7.069 million.
The Corolla Altis X CVT-i 1.8 is likely to increase by Rs 276,000 to Rs 7.305 million, while the Corolla Altis 1.6 X CVT-i Special Edition may see an increase of Rs 288,000, bringing its price to around Rs 7.627 million.

The Corolla Altis Grande X CVT-i 1.8 beige interior could be priced at Rs 7.97 million with an increase of Rs 301,000, while the black interior version could become the most expensive Corolla in the lineup at an estimated Rs 8.011 million after an increase of Rs 302,000.
The proposed environmental levy is part of a wider policy shift being considered by the government to encourage cleaner transport and accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs). Along with the levy, policymakers are evaluating tax and duty concessions for EVs, including possible exemptions from federal excise duty (FED), capital value tax (CVT), and withholding tax.
The proposals, subject to IMF approval, could significantly reshape Pakistan’s automobile market, making conventional vehicles more expensive while improving the affordability of electric alternatives.
