New Petrol Price in Pakistan for 22 July 2026
ISLAMABAD – Pakistanis witnessed another hike in petrol prices as the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) hiked the price of petrol by Rs 4.93 per litre, bringing the new price to Rs 320.73 per litre, while the price of high speed diesel (HSD) increased by Rs 7.15 per liter to Rs 367.21 per litre.

The revised prices came into effect immediately and are expected to trigger another round of inflation, with higher costs of transportation and freight likely to increase prices of food, groceries and other essential items.
The hike in fuel prices has been accompanied by a standoff between the government and petroleum dealers, raising fears of fuel shortages across the country.
After talks between Petroleum Minister Ali Pervez Malik and the All Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (APPDA) ended without any breakthrough, the association announced an indefinite nationwide strike starting at 12 am.
Dealers have vehemently opposed the recently introduced daily fuel pricing formula, arguing that frequent price changes have made it harder to run their business. According to the association, the current dealer commission of Rs 8 per liter is insufficient to cover operating costs, leaving many pump owners on the brink of financial ruin.
“Our businesses are no longer sustainable,” Khan said, adding that many filling stations may be forced to close permanently within the next two months if the dispute is not resolved.
He also accused the government of using gradual daily price adjustments to soften public reaction to fuel hikes while placing a financial burden on petroleum dealers.
