A Punjab police official was arrested for beating a nomadic woman with shoes in Kamalia
Toba Tek Singh – A police sub-inspector in Toba Tek Singh has been arrested after a video surfaced of him allegedly hitting a nomadic woman with shoes in Kamalia.
Inspector General Police Punjab Abdul Kareem took immediate notice after the video of the incident became public. After the intervention, Toba Tek Singh police registered a case against Sub-Inspector Imran Ghafoor and arrested him.
The officer was suspended before the arrest and a departmental inquiry into the incident was also initiated.

The video shows the policeman allegedly hitting the woman with a shoe, prompting police officials to take action.
IG Punjab Abdul Kareem said that under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a policy of zero tolerance against ill-treatment, violence and inappropriate behavior of women has been adopted.
He said that officials who abuse their powers or misbehave with citizens will not be treated with any exception and strict action will be taken against them as per law.
